Leona Shapiro

Leona Shapiro has been practicing law since 1993 and specializes in elder law matters, especially those dealing with Conservatorships and Guardianships. She is the managing partner of Katz & Shapiro, A Law Corporation.

Her background includes a lifetime teaching credential from the LA City Unified School District and as the CEO of her own Commercial and Residential Interior Design Firm.

She has acted as a mediator in varied matters related to probate and conservatorships. Leona Shapiro is an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Beverly Hills Bar Association. 

In Memorium: Ronald S. Katz

Ronald Katz practiced law for nearly fifty years. His background was varied in that he had extensive civil trial experience in personal injury litigation and family law.

He was a certified family law practitioner from 1980 to 1985. He then devoted his time exclusively to estate planning, elder law, general business transactions, and a wide variety of real estate matters.

Mr. Katz received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver in 1964 and was licensed in California starting in 1965. He obtained his real estate broker license from the State of California in 1980.

He served as Judge Pro Tem with the Superior Court of the State of California and served as an Arbitrator in hundreds of civil cases. He also served as a Mediator in numerous other matters. Mr. Katz was a Los Angeles Country Bar Association member and a member of various other Bar Associations and Attorney trade groups.

His clientele consisted of many small to medium size businesses, of which he acted as general counsel, advising on a broad scope of legal matters, from business acquisition to employer-employee relations. He was skilled in the preparation of revocable trusts, wills, durable powers of attorney and the need for conservatorship to augment estate preservation.
